Help & setup

From download to your first renamed file.

Everything you need to install ViewTwo, activate your licence, and get your panel set up — in order, start to finish.

Step 1

Download & install

ViewTwo installs as a normal Windows program — no admin rights beyond the usual installer prompt.

  1. Download the installer from viewtwo.archanon.co.uk/ViewTwoByArchanon_Setup.msi.
  2. Run the downloaded .msi file and follow the installer prompts.
  3. If Windows shows a SmartScreen warning ("Windows protected your PC"), click More info, then Run anyway — this is normal for a newly published installer and will settle down over time as more people install it.
  4. Once installed, ViewTwo starts automatically and adds itself to your Windows startup, so it's there every time you log in.
If you're reinstalling on a machine that already had ViewTwo, your trial clock and any activated licence are remembered — reinstalling doesn't reset either.
Step 2

First launch

ViewTwo lives in your Windows system tray, not as a normal desktop window.

  1. Look for the ViewTwo icon in the system tray (bottom-right of your screen, near the clock — click the little up-arrow if you don't see it right away).
  2. Right-click the tray icon to open the main menu.
  3. Click Open Panel to see your pinned folders and files — empty at first, until you set up pins in step 4.
Step 3

Get a free licence

Re-Name, Re-View and Drop need a licence — currently free during launch, no charge yet.

  1. Go to the pricing page and choose Individual, Team (small), or Team (medium) depending on how many people need it.
  2. Complete the free checkout — you'll receive a licence key by email.
  3. Back in ViewTwo, right-click the tray icon and choose 🔑 Enter Licence Key.
  4. Paste your key and click Activate.

Pinning, New Project, and Save Email Attachments never need a licence — those work immediately, with or without one.
Step 4

Set up your pins

Pinning is how you get your regular folders and files into the panel for quick access.

  1. In Windows Explorer, right-click any folder or file you use often.
  2. Choose Pin to ViewTwo from the right-click menu.
  3. Open the ViewTwo panel again — your pin now appears there, organised under its drive and project.
  4. Pinned items stay put across restarts, and can be unpinned the same way if you no longer need them.
Step 5

Set up ViewTwo Drop

A one-time setup so you and your colleagues can send files straight to each other.

  1. Right-click the tray icon and choose ViewTwo Drop setup.
  2. Pick a shared network location everyone on the team can already reach.
  3. ViewTwo creates your own personal inbox folder inside it automatically.
  4. Ask colleagues to do the same setup, pointing at the same shared location — that's what lets you send to each other.

Troubleshooting

I don't see the tray icon

Click the small up-arrow near the clock to show hidden tray icons — Windows sometimes tucks it away by default. You can drag it out to keep it visible permanently.

A feature says my trial has ended

Re-Name, Re-View and Drop need an active licence once the trial period ends. Right-click the tray icon and choose Enter Licence Key, or click through from the trial-ended message to see pricing.

I entered my key and it wasn't accepted

Double-check the key was copied in full with no extra spaces, and that you're connected to the internet — activation needs to reach Lemon Squeezy the first time. If it still fails, use Report a Bug from Settings so we can look into it.

ViewTwo seems stuck or behaving oddly

Right-click the tray icon and choose 🔄 Restart ViewTwo — this closes and reopens it cleanly without you needing to find it in Task Manager.

Something else isn't working

Open Settings from the tray menu and use Report a Bug — this sends the details straight through so we can look into it.
